3D Secure
If you are trying to pay for your order with a credit card and cannot complete the process, it may be due to the fact that the credit card you are using is not enabled for online payments that use the new 3D security protocols. Specifically, for the VISA network, you need to be enrolled in the Verified by Visa protection program, and for the Mastercard network, you need to be enrolled in the SecureCode program. Even prepaid cards such as POSTEPAY require the activation of this security code.
The 3D Secure service is a security protocol that links your credit or prepaid card to a one-time 6-digit security code, called an OTP (One Time Password), which is sent via SMS to the phone number registered with your bank. This significantly increases the security level of online transactions.
If you have not yet enabled your credit card for 3D Secure, you can contact your bank’s customer service. Below is a list of assistance pages for activating 3D Secure for major banks in Italy:
- UniCredit.
- UBI Banca.
- Monte dei Paschi di Siena.
- Carige.
- Intesa San Paolo.
- Nexi.
- Widiba.
- Poste Italiane.
- Banca Sella.
If you are having difficulty paying for your order with a credit card, remember that you can also pay securely using PAYPAL.
